Bank of Lancaster Announces Promotion14-Jan-2011
Bank of Lancaster President and Chief Executive Officer Austin L. Roberts, III announced that the Board of Directors promoted R. Dixon Foster to the position of Vice President, Risk Management Officer, Privacy Officer, and Security Officer.
A native of Lancaster County, Foster earned a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics with a concentration in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College. He joined the Bank of Lancaster in 1994 as Collection Manager and Loan Resolution Officer. Prior to joining the Bank’s family, Foster was a Branch Manager with a bank in Richmond for five years. Foster also has past experience as an Associate Real Estate Broker.
As Vice President and Risk Management Officer, Privacy Officer and Security Officer, Foster is involved in the study of risk assessment as related to the various departments within the Bank of Lancaster. He also assists in the updating and modifying of the disaster recovery plan for the Bank. Foster is also responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures necessary to insure the Bank’s adherence and compliance with banking regulations established as part of the Privacy Act and Bank Protection Act. Foster has presented numerous seminars throughout the area on Identity Theft. He has also published numerous consumer safety advisory tips in the local paper and on the bank’s website on topics such as lottery scams, telephone scams, text message scams, publisher’s clearing house scam, IRS scams and more. Foster firmly believes that the best consumer is an educated one.
In addition, Foster serves on some of the Bank’s Service Improvement Teams (SITS), which are groups put in place to empower the staff and to help the company achieve the highest possible levels of customer service. Foster is currently serving on teams responsible for the Bank’s communications and the internal/external measurements which were put in place to help the Bank measure its service to both its internal and external customers.
Active in his community, Foster is currently a member of the Lancaster County Lions Club; a member of the Baytones Barbershop Chorus; a member of the Sons of the American Revolution; and is a member of the Lancaster Union Masonic Lodge #88. Foster is also an active member and Deacon of Irvington Baptist Church.
