Bank of Lancaster Announces Promotion20-Nov-2013
Beverly F. Garrett has been promoted by the Board of Directors of Bank of Lancaster to the position of Assistant Vice President, reports Bank President and Chief Executive Officer, Randal R. Greene
Garrett, a native of Virginia and raised in Lancaster County, is a graduate of Lancaster High School. She furthered her education at Thomas Nelson Community College and is a graduate of Kee Business College in Business Computer Administration.
Garrett joined the Bank in August 1996 as a Securities Specialist in the Trust Department. In 2000, she retained her responsibilities when Bay Trust Company was formed. Garrett transferred to Bank of Lancaster’s Finance and Accounting department in February 2005 as a Staff Accountant. In 2008, she was elevated to Senior Accountant and in 2009, was promoted to Accounting Officer.
Garrett manages day-to-day accounting functions, including fixed assets, investments, accruals, stock options, bank franchise taxes, reconciliations, federal funds sold, and preparation of financial reports for the Board of Directors, plus numerous filings with the Federal Reserve, the FDIC, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the Federal Home Loan Bank. In addition, Garrett is responsible for providing accounting support to other functional areas of the Company, including the Investment Committee, as well as assisting in the coordination of budgets, external audits and exams.
Active in our community, Garrett serves as co-chair for the Bank’s entry in the YMCA’s Festival of Trees to support the Y’s Guardian Program and she is a member of the Christmas Parade float committee.
Garrett and her husband Walter reside in Mathews County where they are members of the Mathews Yacht Club.
