Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust Company, affiliates of Bay Banks of Virginia, recently enjoyed hosting a Retiree Luncheon, which was held at Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club, Kilmarnock, Virginia.
Bay Banks Retirees were honored at a retiree luncheon held at Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club, Kilmarnock, on May 22, 2013. In attendance were (l to r) bottom row: Florence Kellum, Linda Hall, Shelva Gaskins, Linda Morris, Norma Lumpkin, Agnes Clark, Jean Edwards; (l to r) middle: President Randy Greene, Betty Hinton, Edith Houghton, Nina Thompson, Doris Gill, Ruth Anne Cralle, Joyce Hill, Lois Dawson, Anita Sanders; (l to r) top row: Kathleen Pollard, Brenda Crowther, Debbie Saunders, Jerry Scott, Donna Jewell and Margaret Curtis.
Bank Senior Vice President Hazel Farmer welcomed the retirees; and in her opening remarks, Farmer thanked this group of dedicated community bankers for their years of commitment to service and community. This group, Farmer noted, laid a solid foundation on which Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust Company stand today. Farmer stated, “Not all of our retirees could be with us today but the 21 who are present represent 430 years of service!” Farmer also noted that the Company today has 45 retirees and if all were able to be in attendance, they would represent 788 years of service. On behalf of the Bank and Trust Company, Farmer noted, “We owe each of you our gratitude. Your dedication to Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust Company put us on a successful journey, one we continue to enjoy even in today’s difficult economic environment. But just as our forefathers did when the Bank’s doors opened in 1930, and what you did during your tenure, it is our goal each and every day to meet the financial needs of our friends and neighbors whom we feel so privileged to serve. And today we rightfully honor you and remember your history with us.”
Also on hand to celebrate with the retirees was Bay Banks and Bank of Lancaster President & CEO Randal Greene, who gave an update on the Company and the banking world today.
Special recognition was given to the Company’s newest retirees, Lois Dawson and Norma Lumpkin. Moments of silence were held for retirees Paul Saylor and Pearl Sydnor, both of whom passed away during the past year.
Farmer stated that as always, it was a wonderful afternoon of fellowship that included a delicious meal prepared by the Club, the sharing of memories, and much laughter.
