Golden Advantage Offers a Brown Bag Luncheon Lecture Series09-Apr-2012 Bank of Lancaster’s Golden Advantage Club is sponsoring a series of three Brown Bag Luncheon Lectures. Attendees are encouraged to bring their “brown bag” lunch at 12:00 noon and enjoy a lecture or demonstration, have an opportunity to interact with the speaker, and enjoy a beverage and dessert. The lectures will be held at Bank of Lancaster Northside’s Community Room in Kilmarnock by the Food Lion Shopping Center.
The first lecture is on Friday April 20, 2012 on “Container Gardening” and will be presented by Master Gardener Carol Taylor. This lecture will focus on how you can have a garden even when you do not have space for a full garden. Taylor will demonstrate the best container for vegetables and plants along with other topics such as watering, location, and hardy plants for our area.
The second lecture will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 on “Why You Need a Will” presented by Frank Burke, President of Bay Trust Company. Burke will talk about Virginia Estate laws and why everyone needs this important financial planning document.
The third and final lecture in this series will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 on “Crafting Shadowbox Displays” by Theresa Ransone. Ransone will demonstrate and show examples of shadowboxes containing 3-D memorabilia, Armed Forces medals, collections and more.
