Cooperative Extension Agent is accepting the donation from Jay Wallin,
President of Bay Trust Company on behalf of Bank of Lancaster and Bay
Trust Company.
Jay Wallin, President and CEO of Bay Trust Company recently presented a
contribution on behalf of Bay Trust and Bank of Lancaster to Virginia
Cooperative Extension Agent, Julie Tritz to assist with the 2008 summer
4-H camp program.
The funds will be used to
send local youths to the summer camp at the Jamestown 4-H Education
Center in Williamsburg. The 4-H camp provides a safe environment in
which children have an opportunity to have fun, make new friends,
develop self-esteem, self-worth, communication and group participation
skills through educational programs, and develop positive attitudes and
life skills that will help them become productive adults and tomorrow’s
leaders.
Wallin stated that the 4-H
programs walk hand-in-hand with the commitment of Bank of Lancaster and
Bay Trust Company to General Colin Powell’s “America’s Promise” program
to invest in the future by investing in children. Wallin said, “The
mission of America’s Promise is to provide youth with the fundamental
resources they need to become happy, healthy and productive adults. The
4-H program is an ideal partnership for our Bank and our Trust Company
in our efforts to provide opportunities to young people for personal
growth.”
