DOUGLAS FLEMER ELECTED TO BANK OF LANCASTER’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Bank of Lancaster’s Chairman of the Board Richard A. Farmar and President and CEO Austin L. Roberts III announce that Douglas E. Flemer has been elected to Bank of Lancaster’s Board of Directors. 

In making this announcement, Roberts advised that Flemer also serves on the Bay Trust Company’s Board and is a past Director of the Bank of Lancaster’s Westmoreland Community Reinvestment Advisory Board.

Roberts stated, “We feel very fortunate to have community leaders such as Doug as a part of our Bay Banks’ family. In order to meet the needs of our customers, Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust Company seek to have on its Boards of Directors broad representation from the communities we are privileged to serve, and Doug brings a great deal of expertise and experience to our Board tables.”

Flemer, a native of Westmoreland County, is proprietor of Ingleside Plantation Vineyards in Oak Grove. Flemer received his B.S. degree from North Carolina State University.

Flemer has been involved in community organizations. He is past vice chairman of the Virginia Wine Board; past president of Virginia Wineries Association; a past director for the local and regional tourist councils; and a past coach for Little League Baseball.  Flemer is also a past director for the American Vintners Association. He is a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Oak Grove.

Flemer and his wife Nancy reside in Oak Grove with their twenty-year-old son, Jordan, a rising Junior at Virginia Tech and their seventeen-year-old daughter, Carlyn, a rising senior at Fredericksburg Academy.

Both Farmar and Roberts stated that the Board, management and staff of Bank of Lancaster are very pleased to have Flemer on the Bank’s Board.  Roberts noted, “We have been privileged for several years to have Doug’s guidance and counsel on our Bay Trust Board of Directors, and he has proven to be a very valuable member.  We are very excited and pleased to now have that same guidance and counsel on our Bank’s Board, and we thank Doug for accepting this new responsibility.  We know he will continue to be an asset to our organization and we look forward to a long and rewarding affiliation with him.”
