Jenkins, Evans & Pittman Promoted


Bank of Lancaster President and Chief Executive Officer Randal R. Greene reports that the Board of Directors recognized Douglas F. Jenkins, Jr., Deborah M. Evans, and Susan S. Pittman with promotions.

Jenkins, Senior Vice President and Retail Delivery Administrator, was elevated to the office of Executive Vice President in addition to Retail Delivery Administrator. Evans, Treasurer for Bay Banks of Virginia, was elected by the Bay Banks Board of Directors to the office of Chief Financial Officer. Evans was also promoted by the Bank of Lancaster Board to the level of Senior Vice President and is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Cashier. Pittman, Vice President and Commercial Lending Administrator, was promoted to the level of Senior Vice President in addition to Commercial Lending Administrator. 

Jenkins joined Bank of Lancaster in April of 2006 as Vice President, Business Development Officer. In May 2008, Jenkins was elevated to Senior Lending Officer responsible for supervising all lending areas of the Bank - residential, consumer and commercial. In December 2009, Jenkins was promoted to Senior Vice President. In May 2011, he was named Retail Delivery Administrator, assuming leadership of the Bank’s retail delivery team.

Prior to joining Bank of Lancaster, Jenkins was Vice President and Client Manager for the Financial Institutions Group of SunTrust Bank in Richmond, Virginia. Jenkins has 26 years of banking experience, having started his banking career with United Virginia Bank in 1985.

Jenkins is a native of Westmoreland County and graduated from Washington and Lee High School in 1978. In 1982, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.

Jenkins recently completed a term serving as a Director of the Virginia Association of Community Banks. 

Active in his community, Jenkins says he feels extremely fortunate to work for an organization that promotes community involvement. He is a member and a past President of the Warsaw Rotary Club. He is a Deacon and Trustee of Menokin Baptist Church in Warsaw. He is also a past Board member of the Richmond/Westmoreland Habitat for Humanity. 

Jenkins and his wife, Aimee, reside in Warsaw. They have a daughter, Afton, who recently graduated from the University of Mary Washington. 

A native of Delaware, Evans has been a resident of Northumberland County since 1997. She joined the Bank of Lancaster in 1999 as Regulatory Accountant; and with the complete confidence of the Company’s management and that of the Boards of Directors, Evans has been on a steady path of advancement. 

Evans received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute, now Kettering University, in Flint, Michigan. She received her Masters degree in Business Administration from Yale University’s School of Organization and Management. Evans holds a certificate in Bank Management from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado and has completed the Virginia Bankers Association’s Leadership Institute.

Active in her community, Evans serves on the Board of the Lancaster Community Library. She is Treasurer for the Northeast Virginia Dressage Association. She owns a Dutch Warmblood mare with whom she has actively competed, and now is the proud mother of a four-month old colt. Evans is also a founding member of the Northern Neck Corvette Club. She is a past member, board member and Scholarship Chair of the Northern Neck Rotary Club.

Evans and her husband, Tom Watkins, reside in Northumberland County. Their mutual hobbies include live steam model railroading, high performance driving events and sailing. They are members of the Blue Ridge Live Steamers, the Central Carolina Live Steamers, the National Corvette Museum, the Rappahannock Pistol and Rifle Club, and the Great Wicomico Cruising Club.

Pittman, a native of Lancaster County and a graduate of Lancaster High School, joined the Commercial Lending Department of the Bank of Lancaster in 2002. She was promoted to Commercial Lending Officer in May 2005.

Pittman was elevated to the office of Assistant Vice President in December 2005.

She was promoted to Vice President in December 2007 and manages the Bank of Lancaster’s Commercial Loan Department. 

Pittman earned a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the College of William and Mary. She is a Certified Public Accountant and worked in the Business Assurance Services division of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and KPMG in Hampton Roads prior to returning home to the Northern Neck. Since joining the Bank, Pittman has attended several Virginia Bankers Association courses. In August 2007, Pittman graduated from the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia.

Pittman serves her community as a member of the Lancaster By the Bay Chamber of Commerce Board and the River Counties Community Foundation Board. She has a vested commitment to the youth of the area and expresses this as a member of the Northern Neck Kiwanis Satellite Club, a service organization devoted to assisting area children. She is the chair of the Northumberland Lancaster Smart Beginnings Leadership Council, an initiative aimed at ensuring students are better prepared when they enter kindergarten. She is active with the Lancaster County Little League, is a member of the Lancaster Primary School PTA and is a member of the Bank’s March of Dimes team. Pittman is a member of Morattico Baptist Church.

Pittman and her husband Travis reside in Kilmarnock with their son, Eli.
